I used to do a lot more Flash work, and I expect I'll do some more in the future. Back when I was doing more, I created a bunch of SmartClips to help me apply certain effects to MovieClips programmatically. When Flash MX came out, I upgraded these to be Components so they'd be easier to use. You can still find the SmartClips in the Archive, but I suspect more people will be interested in the Components. If you have any feedback you'd like to leave about these components, or perhaps a bug report / feature request, feel free to drop in at the Number A Forums.
It looks like these components do not work in Flash MX 2004 or Flash 8. I'll work on getting them compatible when I have some time.
As of now, all of these components are free to use by anybody. I don't have a proper license up yet, but basically you can use them however you'd like, but if you include them in your projects or web sites you have to email me so I can add you to my list of users. That's really all I want.
Right now I have the following components available:
- Motion Blur Component - Make a clip blur as it moves.
- Motion Trail Component - Make a clip leave a trail.
- Constrained Wander Component - Make a clip wander aimlessly in a square.
- Archive - The above components and more, as their original Flash 5 SmartClips.
